Baxi has added two higher-output models to its commercial Auriga HP+ air source heat pump family. The new units take the range from small plant-room sizes up to 170 kW, and like the rest of the HP+ line they use natural R290 (propane) refrigerant. Baxi announced the launch on 28 September 2026.

Two versions

  • Auriga HP+ (50–170 kW) – the standard high-output model, aimed at buildings where comfort and control matter most. It can be ordered with factory-fitted options and produces hot water at up to 70 °C, so it can be dropped into existing systems that still run on radiators.
  • Auriga HP+ ES (55–170 kW) – the low-noise variant. EC inverter axial fans move the same air at lower speed, which Baxi says cuts sound levels by around 8 dB(A). That makes it the one to look at for noise-sensitive sites.

Heating, cooling and hot water from one unit

Both versions are reversible, so a single machine can provide space heating, cooling and domestic hot water. Baxi is positioning them for new build and retrofit projects across the UK and Ireland, naming education and healthcare estates, offices, hotels and energy centres as typical applications. Shane Suter, Baxi’s Commercial Business Director, described the expanded range as “a practical, flexible route to lower-carbon heating and cooling”.

The new 50–170 kW models sit above the existing Baxi Auriga HP (20–40 kW, R32) and Auriga HP+ 20–30 kW (R290) units. The 20 and 30 kW HP+ models are already in this database; we’ll add the larger sizes once Baxi publishes full technical data.
