Vaillant first launched the aroTHERM plus in 2020, when it was widely seen as a step change for the industry. Six years on, the original is still well regarded – The Independent’s UK heat pump buying guide picks it out as a strong all-round choice from a major heating brand. In June 2026 Vaillant launched a remastered aroTHERM plus, updating the design and features for how the market has moved on.
Still Quiet Mark approved
Noise remains one of the biggest concerns for people considering a heat pump. The new aroTHERM plus keeps the Quiet Mark certification held by the original. Quiet Mark tests noise levels across home and commercial products, and Vaillant says its heat pumps were the first ever to be Quiet Marked, back in 2014.
New 7 kW model
Quiet Mark’s Poppy Szkiler included the new 7 kW aroTHERM plus in a Times round-up of the quietest heat pumps that can also cool, naming it:
“Best for homes with limited space”

The reason is the new Flexible Space Function, which allows much smaller clearances under windows and beside doors than the original, so the unit is easier to site on compact plots.
See one in action
Vaillant points people to the Visit a Heat Pump scheme, where heat pump owners open their homes so others can see the technology working and ask questions before deciding. Vaillant notes that autumn, as the heating season starts, is a good time to visit.
